The Number of Bitcoin Whales Reaches a Record, Balances Increased by 60,000 BTC
The number of wallets with balances from 10 BTC to 10,000 BTC has reached a record of 20,338 addresses. Whale balances have increased by approximately 60,000 BTC, indicating the activity of large holders amid the market recovery. According to data from CryptoQuant, the total balances of whale wallets rose from 2.94 million BTC at the end of August to nearly 3 million BTC, representing a 2% increase. Accumulation slowed down in September but accelerated at the end of the month and at the beginning of October. Whales were building positions during the price recovery, which may indicate their readiness to hold more Bitcoins. Currently, balances have slightly decreased, and a key test will be the behavior of whales during price consolidation. CryptoQuant notes that changes in balances may reflect wallet restructuring, so additional data is needed to confirm active accumulation.
