OpenAI has announced that its internal model has achieved three new discoveries in the fields of mathematics, computer science, and physics. The model has proven that the Exponential Time Hypothesis (ETH), which has been used as a premise for computational hardness in hundreds of papers, is incorrect. The results have been verified through Lean formalization and will be confirmed by a group led by the hypothesis's proposers, Russell Impagliazzo, Ramamohan Paturi, and MIT professor Ryan Williams. Additionally, the model has proven the local smoothness conjecture in arbitrary dimensions, resolving the Kakeya conjecture and the Stein restriction conjecture. In physics, the model has provided a rigorous existence proof for four-dimensional quantum field theories, including quantum chromodynamics, which contains an existence proof for the pure Yang-Mills theory related to the Millennium Prize Problems. This will be verified by a group led by Nobel Prize-winning physicist David Gross. The above results await independent verification from the academic community.
